I've finally made up my vision board! I'm so excited to have finally set this up! It was one of my goals for January to set up this Vison board. It gives you such an accomplished feeling when you get to cross off one of your goals when its done.
This board shows everything that I hope to achieve in the next 3 months and serves as a constant reminder of what it is exactly, that I'm striving for! I've made it a mix of few things I need, a few thing I'm working on and a few quotes to help me keep up the motivation!
Vision Boards are amazing tools for anyone who wants to set goals and actually achieve them. Whatever it is you want to be doing in the near future or long term future, whether its to take a holiday or save X amount of money, you can put up on your board and have a daily reminder of what it is you're actually working for. You could say its a visual To Do list.
It's so easy to say to yourself or friends that you want to do this, that and whatever, only to find a few months down a line that your chatting to your bestie and the subject of your goal comes up, and you realise you've not actually put any action behind your words. I admit, I'm guilty of that too. But it was more like a habit to me to stay in dream land. So after many years of this proven-to-lead-me-nowhere habit, I've decided that this year I was going to put actions behind my words.
If you've been following my blog, you'll know by now that I use a bullet journal to keep track of my goals and habits. Yes some of my goals mentioned in my journal are on my vision board, and it might seem repetitive, but this way I'm always reminded of the bigger picture. Whenever I'm not looking at my Journal I'll have the board to motivate me.
So what is it that my vision board actually shows?
I've made this board with the target of completing everything by the end of March.
In the centre of the board I have a picture of an office set up with its own vision board, and this represents the office space I hope to have in my own home in the next couple of months.
To the right I have a picture of a passport and a couple of pictures of Santas Village in Rovaniemi, Finland (Lapland), as this coming Christmas I want to take Jodie to see Santa for the day as her main present and to experience the true magic of Christmas! Of course I'll need to get Jodie her passport to go! Next to these pictures I have a few motivational quotes to keep me going whenever I need that boost. And in the corner I have a Picture of a book called Big Magic. This represents books in general, and the goal i set myself to read more.
Moving to the left I have quite a running theme of self care through the medium of eating. I have a quote that says "Eat for the body you want, not the body you have" which I think is an amazing saying! Next to this is a picture of all the healthy foods I'm aiming to eat more of, as I want to transition into a more paleo based diet and cut out all the processed foods. In line with this is a picture of a cooker, as some of you might know from my last post, the oven in my current cooker has broke so that is a definite must to replace! Above the cooker, there's a random picture of a woman, but for me this represents the healthy skin I'm working towards as I've always had problematic skin. But with the change of diet, I'm hoping healthier skin becomes a part of that package!
Moving up to the top left corner I have some more positive quotes, and a picture of a silhouette in a meditative pose which represents my interest in starting the practise of meditation and Yoga.
I'm so happy with how it came out and cant wait to see how many of these actually come into fruition in the near future!
You can create vision boards for absolutely anything, where its future goals, your wedding, a celebration, even revision for your exams! You can absolutely tailor it to your exact needs! I've even made my desktop wallpaper into a virtual vison board!
Give it a go and see where it could lead you!
